а я его вчера слушал и сейчас слушаю... там Петроцци на гитаре мочит....ка толко струны выдерживают...они там собрались ...покурили...и решили вот такую... там Василий Молчанов на басе...а Антон Архипов на клавишных играет...правда тока 2 вещи...но какие!

Dushan Petrossi hails from Belgium and is the lead guitarist in Iron Mask and Magic Kingdom. We caught up with the talented guitarist to get an insight into his music, his influences and much more.



Band name, album name and cover artwork were already enough to give me the shivers. Really, this is 2004, who still needs dungeons and dragons apart from role playing gamers? Since I wanted to give them a chance anyway, I started reading the info sheet and noticed a familiar name: Dushan Petrossi, the Russian guitar player who was already behind the band Iron Mask and their really good album on Lion Music. Apparently Dushan formed Iron Mask because his old label didn't allow Magic Kingdom to release their second album, so after five years, and many of them wasted on legal struggles, we finally get the sophomore effort, and it is no worse than what we are used from this great guitar player.

First of all what I appreciate about him is his willingness to put the song first. Petrossi is an exceptional guitar player, combining the neo-classical versatility with the amazing speed metal of the mid-Eighties, all enveloped in a tight production. The song writing is as good as you can expect from a band that calls its style symphonic speed metal: everything is very hymnic, the guitar solos emphasise Petrossi's status as a guitar hero, and with the 13 minutes epic title track, they even add operatic vocals and black metal shrieks. Apart from that it's a meaty piece of melodic metal, not as anaemic as many of their contemporaries. The only instrumental song Black Magic Castle convinces with crazy solos, while the ballad Another Sun shows why Magic Kingdom are best when they rock hard. Apart from that I suggest to listen to Child Of The Nile (of which the band made a video clip) and The Fight.

I recommend this album strongly to any fan of bands like Rhapsody, and give them 8 points. Great Belgian metal!

Iron Mask is the sequel to Belgium's Power Metal act Magic Kingdom fronted by guitarist Dushan Petrossi, also known as one of Belgium's own guitar heroes. Dushan got his first guitar when he was 9 (1982) and never stopped playing ever since. Very early, he played in several cover bands till the day he wanted to compose his own music. That's what he did at age 15; he composed his very first Heavy Metal song and set off to play with lots of different Belgian bands. The first Magic Kingdom album, "The Arrival" was released in 1999. Reviews were excellent but due to contractual complications with their former label Music avenue/Roadrunner, Magic Kingdom had to delay their second album "Metallic Tragedy" at least until somewhere in 2003.This album was already recorded 2 years ago and since Dushan didn't want to wait until legal issues got solved, he composed some instrumental songs and Power / Neoclassical Hard Rock with a few progressive parts. Early 2002, Lion Music, which had also shown interest in the new Magic Kingdom album signed Dushan's second project and that's how Iron Mask was born! From March 2002, the first album, which was understandably titled "Revenge Is My Name", got recorded in Brussels at the Excalibur studios. The band name and some songs of the album were based on the famous book by Alexandre Dumas, "The Man In The Iron Mask". Great Melodic Power Metal music is what you may expect from this band. Dushan's guitar playing is influenced by many different musicians and composers like Händel, Verdi, Paganini, Mozart. The opening song of the album, "Enemy Brother", is Händel's Ouverture arranged for electric guitar by Dushan and recorded with a real string section. Yngwie Malmsteen, Michael Romeo, Michael Schenker and Gary Moore are Dushan's electric influences, although he got to his own style of playing and composing music. Mixing his influences and creating his own universe, which combines melody, energy, fantasy, virtuosity, epic lyrics and incredibly fast soloing, Dushan has become one of the best new generation guitar players. Vassili Moltchanov (Magic Kingdom), who played with the famous Russian band Master in the eighties, is in charge of bass parts. Vocals were provided by Phil Letaw (ex-Cryme) and sound like a perfect mix between Dio and Mark Boals. Keyboards are performed by virtuoso Youri Degroote. Dushan Petrossi also performed with Europe drummer Ian Haugland on the Uli Jon Roth tribute album released late 2002. If you like good catchy Metal songs with a shred attitude, then Dushan Petrossi's Iron Mask is for you.

22. Inner Wish 2004 "Silent Faces" (melodic power)


The follow up album to INNERWISH's debut considered as one of THE classic heavy metal albums of all time in their homecountry of Greece).
Recorded under the guidance of the successful producer, R.D. Liapakis (Valley’s Eve, Mystic Prophecy, David Chastain, Jack Starr’s Guardians Of The Flame), quickly reminds one of the great years of Jag Panzer, Riot and Fifth Angel.
Greece is a country that has the reputation to be a melodic power metal capital of Europe. Inner Wish at least are a band who can prove that thesis. The opener of their second CD Silent Faces is called Dancer Of The Storm and is a classic powerful metal song with a very melodic chorus. Inner Wish who were founded in 1995 cite bands like Jag Panzer and Riot among their influences. This comparison is not only right because there are similarities concerning the song writing between these bands, but Inner Wish take advantage from a well educated singer who's able to use his voice in higher and deeper ranges. Hold Me Tight, a song with hit potential, underlines the singer's capacities. Of course every power metal band also needs harder and faster tracks which you'll discover while listening to Midnight Call or Riding On The Wind. And another must are two epic hymns called Hold On and Set Me Free. Although I'm not the biggest fan of power metal, I wonder why I prefer Inner Wish to a lot of other bands which received worse reviews on this homepage. Maybe the secret behind their success is the rather simple and straight songwriting which doesn't let the music sound too pathetic. This is definitely a better classic metal album.



23.IronWare 2003 "Break Out" (melodic power)


After a little over one minute intro lead by a flowing keyboard arrangement I was assuming this album from Swedenґs IRONWARE was going to be typical "happy" Euro Power Metal and while it does have a very upbeat kind of atmosphere this is something slightly different. Not overly different but it has more of a Rock N Roll, Traditional Metal feeling to it. I could do with less of the keyboards since I think the riffing and vocals are very strong and at least are kept in the forefront for the most part. The band isnґt doing anything that hasnґt been done before but that can be said for most any bandґs nowadays since originality is like mission impossible. If you look for something that gets the feet and head moving, like catchy, singalong choruses and lots of melodies then IRONWARE would be of interest to you. Recommended for fans of older GAMMA RAY or PRIMAL FEAR.

Дааа... не слабо. Мне особенно понравился в свое время Hollethon ,а он был заявлен в том же стиле что и №31. Стало быть релиз Norther будет летом (если в порадке очереди). А что если ты не..за..мет..но передаеш его кому нибуть, например, мне. А потом этот чел. после часа Х выходит изза дерева и говорит : "Здравствуй мама !"
