Review by Daevid Jehnzen
Camel was still finding their signature sound on their eponymous debut album. At this point, Pete Bardens and his grand, sweeping organ dominate the group's sound, and Andy Latimer sounds tentative on occasion. Furthermore, the music fluctuates uncertainly between arty improvisations, jazz-inflected rhythms, and uninspired rock numbers. There are hints of promise scattered throughout the album, yet the record never gels into something special. [The 2002 reissue offers two bonus tracks: the single version of "Never Let Go" and a live version of "Homage to the God of Light."]

Slow Yourself Down Latimer, Ward 4:47
Mystic Queen Bardens 5:37
Six Ate Latimer 6:02
Seperation Latimer 3:56
Never Let Go Latimer 6:23
Curiosity Bardens 5:53
Arubaluba Bardens 6:27
Never Let Go [Single Version - Originally released as A-side of MUS 1177] Latimer 3:40
Homage to the God of Light [Recorded live at Marquee Club - 29th October 1974] Bardens 19:01
