Yury, what do you call a Diament remasters? I am keen to know it since after all the time spent listening to this package I would say it still leaves something to be desired. It's overloaded with highs and all that hiss stuff and mids are sort of cut off of the tracks. So I feel like SHM boasts an awesome package and it proves to be so but the contents is... well... So I wonder if those Diament remasters were made on different sources?

I didn't say "remasters", I meant the original Atlantic CDs, mastered by a wonderful engineer Barry Diament. He did the following Zep CDs:

I believe they were made from the master tapes. Page/Marino remasters sound kinda bright and unnatural CDs. Japanese 2003 and 2008 SHM CDs are just reproductions of Page/Marino remasters. I dont believe in SHM adding detail to CDs

Yikes. Do I get it right then that his works on Bob Marley's albums are also original masters? I thought of them like of re-masters. The page you are referring to has a Barry's post where he's saying he did only the CDs work. So talking that these discs are original masters you mean that these were the first pressings of LZ CDs ever made?

I'd say sometimes they sound VERY unnatural with overly boosted upper highs making my ears hurt. I lower the high and seesh... where's the sound then.

correct. Keep in mind that flat transfer is not always perfect, as in many cases, it still needs some tweaking. Let me quote Steve Hoffman here:

Atlantic CDs were made in early 80s. Page/Marino remasters were made in 1994. I dont think we have all of the BD masters upped. Try search for atlantic pressings. I know that they were included in the LZ Unremastered pack at torrents.ru: http://torrents.ru/forum/viewtopic.php?t=738226

но там же LED ZEPPELIN/DEFINITIVE COLL. MINI LP SLEEVE 12 SHM-CD BOX

это значит у них раньше была ошибка в описании. ссылка на SHM отсутствовала. Я то себе уже из Японии заказал. В принципе разница в 50 дол всего, а по датам уж больно разнесены.
