This is one of the most famous new recordings of Ludwig van Beethovens famous symphonies. The major difference to other recordings is that this one here is played by a Chamber Orchestra, the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen. Paavo Järvi pays respect to the "original sound" movement by using this small orchestra for Beethoven´s symphonies. This recording took nearly every critic all over the world by storm. But: if you love the style from von Karajan, this rendition here won´t be for you. Järvi´s Beethoven is extremely fast, gritty and not bombastic. Also, Järvi conducts different compared to the other shares I did with the american Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. The sound & the orchestra are not so lush as the TELARC recordings, but more refined, more precise, more thin (in a good way). It´s much more german so to say. I love this approach, it is immensly refreshing. The sound is never cold, despite its precision. The recording & the interpretations are nothing but perfect. If you want to hear one of the most realistic Beethoven, this is yours. Enjoy it!
