"Spyrol" is the third release of these German hopefuls and their first proper full length album. Any fan of traditional Metal will freak out on this, especially if he is quality conscious. If you're one of those obsessive power metal fans who has a hard time surviving between Helloween and Maiden releases, it's time to branch out. Start with this, the full-length debut from this Frankfurt band who, while certain to floor you with the sheer force and speed of their riffs, don't skimp on solid structures and strong melodies. "Angel of Fire" is a perfect example, a song that warms up with some hammering drum and guitar trade-offs in the opening, before expanding into a full-on machine gun screamer. The vocals stomp through with both push and purpose, matching the guitar squealing and laying down melodies that drive the song even harder. "Northern Son" proves they're also capable of slowing it down, while still maintaining the intricacies of the guitar leads and the haunting prowess of the vocals. If you're a fan of German power metal, get ready to fly the burning skies.
