01. Fields Of Yesterday 02. Soul Collector 03. Red Light 04. Back To Hell 05. Beyond The Gates 06. The Key 07. Garden Of Evil 08. Merciless 09. Silent Cries 10. Dreams 11. Signs 12. Forever Ends You can think about HAMMERFALL and Joacim Cans whatever you want. But it’s a fact, that he is a pretty skilled singer. And this is also proven on this solo album. The same goes for HAMMERFALL, too, but I never liked their choruses and melody lines. But here, this man has the possibility to realize all his visions about Metal and he’s not captured in the songwriting structure, Oscar Dronjak dictates. Another thing is, that the dreams of every Metal fan came true as Cans personally wrote to some of his heroes and asked them to provide some riffs. Jeff Waters, Mat Sinner, David Chastain, Ronny Milianowicz, Corbin King and Metal Mike Chlasciak heard his call. The fragments are gloomy, slightly progressive but still melodic. Joacim sorted all out what he thought too lineally, too happy or too HAMMERFALL-like. Together with Mat Sinner (PRIMAL FEAR, bass), the outstanding Mark Zonder (FATES WARNING, drums), Stefan Elmgren (HAMMERFALL, guitars) and Metal Mike Chlasciak (HALFORD, guitars), he mixed up the single items to one whole thing. The result is an album, which surprised me personally. >>> metal-observer© <<< |
