.- Full scans (nothing new, ain't it? ) .- Tagged within. .- Replaygained. .- Video OMITTED. There's a *.txt with the elink to get it. .- The usual stuff in my releases: log, cue, md5, etc.... Amazing band and amazing Live CD:enough said! Jeff Waters is one of the most brilliant guitarrists out there, no doubt about it. Drummer Randy Black is awesome ![]() ![]() Review: This is a great live showcase of one of metal’s more unheralded units. Full of energy and aggression, this is a killer set that would have ruled as a DVD release. Joe Comeau has plenty of stage presence and a voice to match; quite simply put, some of thrash metal’s finest hidden gems are collected here. The one word that might best describe Annihilator’s peak moments is "rip" -- as in, they absolutely rip through their songs with galloping, razor-honed precision. A plethora of tracks here display that sawtoothed characteristic, including "Denied," "The Blackest Day," "King of the Kill," "I Am in Command," and "Refresh the Demon." Jeff Waters and Curran Murphy are two of the most precise guitarists in the business, and don’t lose a step when up on stage. "Lunatic Asylum" is a shredding and surgical masterpiece, with other nice cuts being "Striker," "Phantasmagoria," and the methodical stalk of "The Box." If anyone is looking for a punch-in-the-gut introduction to the band, look no further than this tasty platter. Another review After eight studio albums Canadian ANNIHILATOR definitely have had a reason to finally release a live album and "Double Live Annihilation", as the title already implies, has turned out to be even a double CD, almost as if trying to make up for the long time it had taken them... Unfortunately I only have an excerpt here, with 13 tracks altogether, so I have a hard time to really judge this effort as a whole, but I'll still try my best to do so. Anyone, who has seen this troop around guitar wizard clown Jeff Waters before, knows which on stage monster this quintet from Vancouver, B.C. is, tight as hell, with great musicianship and just to watch Jeff's mine play when playing his guitar almost is worth the money alone. But as so often is the question: How does this transfer to the CD, where you lack the visual element? That the choice of songs itself is almost impeccable almost goes without mentioning, all the classics are there and the sound quality brings the best out of hammers like "Alison Hell", double bass killers "Refresh The Demon" and "King Of The Kill", classic "Striker", "Phantasmagoria" up to finally their AC/DC homage "Shallow Grave", these titles alone should be proof for the excellent choice of songs already. The only thing that I cannot say much about is the overall atmosphere of the fans as the compiling of these tracks caused fade outs, but that is only a minor flaw here, because in any way, this is an absolutely befitting live document of these true and trusted veterans of Metal, so thumbs up for this one - and remember, I normally do not like live albums!
