Eastern european labels surprised us some time ago already with their artists and compilation albums. in the meantime Yonderboi as an artist and balaton grooves as a compilation album, both from hungary, are well known all over europe. and now we are ready for talents born in the czech republic. the prague based label intellygent records has released several volumes of future sound of prague of which city groovez' label manager hanyo van oosterom made a fine selection called praha:superb available for the rest of the world. young czech producers appearing on this cd did find the perfect balance between vocals, breakbeats, acoustic jazz, electronic music and chill-out soundscapes.a very long time ago czech car builder skoda put an upscaled model on the market called superb and at the end of 2002 they do it all over again. again the new superb will be the top of the range. something similar now happens with the music. like the famous classical composers living in the czech republic centuries ago the new breed of musicians is aiming for the top again. it must be said: praha is really superb!
