Review:
AMG review by Scott Yanow:

This audiophile CD is a straight reissue of an Original Jazz Classics CD that is also very much available. Trumpeter Baker performs with a quartet/quintet including pianist Al Haig, bassist Paul Chambers, drummer Philly Joe Jones and (on four of the seven selections) tenor saxophonist Johnny Griffin. Highlights of this decent if not essential session include "Polka Dots and Moonbeams," "Solar" and "When Lights Are Low." The CD reissue adds a quintet version of "Soft Winds" from the same sessions formerly released on a sampler.

Personnel:
- Chet Baker (trumpet)
- Johnny Griffin (tenor saxophone)
- Al Haig (piano)
- Paul Chambers (bass)
- Philly Joe Jones (drums)

Recorded at Reeves Sound Studios, New York, New York in September 1958.

Originally released on Riverside (1119).
