Guillaume Dufay (1397 - 1474) Fragmenta Missarum Cantica Symphonia Giuseppe Maletto, Kees Boeke - conductors These movements are early works, for the practice of composing single movements or pairs of movements for the Ordinary of the Mass lasted only until around 1430. (The first Kyrie and the second Agnus Dei may be later, judging by their cantus firmus construction.) The composition of a Mass cycle of five movements became common after that time. Dufay's Mass movements have not been recorded very often, and five of these ten movements are recorded here for the first time. 01. Kyrie 'fons Bonitatis' 3vv. 02. Gloria 3vv. 03. Credo 3vv. 04. Sanctus 3vv. 05. Agnus 3vv. 06. Ave regina coelorum (III) 4vv. 07. Kyrie 'di Cambrai' 3vv. 08. Gloria 4vv. 09. Credo 4vv. 10. Sanctus 'Ave verum corpus' 4vv. 11. Agnus 'Custos et pastor' 3vv.
