хотя в третьем проекте уже не участвовал Роине Столт, но, как по мне, альбом получился очень и весьма :punk: :D
thanks to my guys :)
For years Andy Tillison worked hard with his band Parallel or 90 Degrees, hard to convince music lovers about his talent and the strong wish to be accepted in the world of progressive rock, to leave a statement behind if you wish. With numerous great compositions and lots of interesting albums on the Cyclops label, Po90° still didn't make it big. So I can imagine the anger at the Tillison household (Andy is the partner of keyboardplayer Sam Baine) seeing that "other" upcoming bands did receive international respect whereas in his case this claim to fame resulted in next to nothing. Whilst by now the prog community no longer got startled when rumours about a newly formed supergroup hit the specialized press, people nevertheless got puzzled to see three members of famous Swedish proggers Flower Kings team up with Andy Tillison. This third concept-album comes with the tagline "an album for those who never took theirs". I’ll interpret this as ‘different’ as a lot about this band, album and music are ‘not mainstream’ so to say. Just to name some trivia’s: the total playing time of this album is 79 minutes or as they call it: "a double album on a single cd". It was recorded in France, England & Sweden. Front-man Andy Tillison (the band's main writer, singer, guitarist & key’s on organ, piano & moog) had a copy of Yes’s "Tales From Topographic Oceans" in front of him throughout the whole procedure, "not to rip it off, but to give me reminders of the kind of depth I wanted to achieve to make this album work." he said. But more of those on there website.Read More
Within these lines, I have the honour of telling you all about the first jewel/gem of 2006. Andy Tillison is the director and overall leader of this stroke of genius which, under the abovementioned name, offers us a work of progressive music in the widest sense of the word.
The third piece of work from the Britains, or fourth if you count the Live ‘Pyramids and Stars’, and probably the most versatile of all as it brings together, in a stroke of virtuosity, styles which could seem at first to be little compatible. This is 79 minutes of a passion for music displayed in 7 matchless tracks.
Right from the start, with ‘In Earnest’ (20 minutes), we find ourselves with a group who desire to explore all aspects of fusion in its fullest sense. From the most seventies Funk, pianos that ring with positive melodies, Classical or Folk instruments like saxophone, flute and clarinet (Theo Travis), passing through moments of electrifying Symphonic Rock, fantastic guitar riffs and progressive changes of rhythm, this first track is one of the best I have heard for a long time.
