4 stars NO HOLDS BARRED This CD should be called Stryper: UNLEASHED. A different direction indeed, and a refreshing one. This CD reminds you this band is one of the heaviest around, leaving behind the gimmicks and glitter, these guys can hold their own in the rock arena. Submitted by Jack in Alexandria, LA, USA
4 stars Sadly Unappreciated Stryper dropped their yellow and black image for this CD, and was reportedly striving for "more musical freedom," from what their fans have undoubtedly grown accustomed to: a Christian message in crystal - clear black and white. Was this a mistake? Stryper may have felt it was after the release, because the band drifted apart after a Greatest Hits collection and did not release anything new for another twelve years, not to mention that many Christian Book Stores would not carry ATL. Do I think this was a mistake? I feel that ATL is Stryper's best effort. It certainly had a looser feel, but make no false assumptions that the boys gave up their Lord for this one -- there are still Christian lyrics and morals to be found in the songs, such as in the CD's best track, "Rock the Hell Out of You." Without question Stryper had an impressive, unique image with the yellow and black outfits and instruments on previous efforts, but they looked very cool in ATL, and the sound was much more sleek and relaxed. Take a chance. You won't regret it. Submitted by lostintwilight in Albany, OR

5 stars Stryper's best CD This is Stryper's best CD. It is melodic and upbeat, but with some powerful riffs. The lyrics are more intelligent, less preachy. Submitted by a reviewer in washington, dc | EAC extraction logfile from 28. October 2006, 17:52 for CD Stryper / Against The Law
