As far as Ebbetts is concerned, this second venture into solo-Beatles land was ABSOLUTELY necessary. This is, undoubtedly, a sensational LP that was given absolutely HORRIBLE treatment in its 2001 remastered release. The noise reduction used on the official store bought CD is downright criminal. On several tracks, the cymbals and hi-hats have that most annoying swooshing sound inherent in poorly applied noise reduction. Why do people fear tape hiss so much? Why do these so-called experts wish to eliminate it? The result, on songs like "I Dig Love" is a suffocating, unnatural shame of a crime. Additionally, the so-called EQ applied to the commercial release is very harsh in places. This HAD to be tackled by Ebbetts. This version, complete on two CDs, is taken straight from pristine copies of the original LP.

Yes, folks... Throw away your '30th Anniversary Editions' of ATMP because the Doc's back with a fantastic transfer of one the best solo Beatle LP's (sharing the No. One spot with 'Plastic Ono Band' and 'Ram', in case you're wondering...).

Remember that high pitched tone at the beginning of 'I Dig Love'? I do, as the remastered CD tried to cover it up by adding massive amounts of noise reduction, giving it lots of ugly, watery artifacts. The high pitched tone is still there, together with a fair amount of tape hiss, but this beats the remastered CD by a long shot!

I won't go into detail about each and every track, but this transfer is just brilliant: warm, dynamic, and it won't wear out your ears like the remastered CD reissue. And as usual, the artwork is spot on; a perfect replica of the original LP art.

One can only hope the good Doc will be treating us with more solo albums of this caliber in the future (early Macca, pretty please?! And perhaps a transfer of the UK Apple LP of ATMP?) because this is just amazing!

The sound is much warmer on this than on the CD - it sounds just as the LP did when I bought it back in 1981! The stereo effect is more noticeable too. Excellent job!

The should have called the new version of this classic "All Things Must Get Remastered By Sillysods". It sounds Mew'tillated with the top end swirling around all over the place like it was done with Sound Forge on a PC. I would rather have some hiss than a squashed top end and artifacts from excessive de-Cedarising. The color artwork in the reissue was cute though.

The Docs version is the one to own.

Thank goodness for Dr Ebbett! "All Things Must Pass" is one of the all time great releases by any musician, and this release does the original vinyl justice at last on a correct and proper transfer to CD. The original vinyl has pride of place in my collection, but this is a true and faithful CD version, far superior to the 30th anniversary "remaster" (sic).

Юра,послушал внимательно твоего и моего Джоржа-твой звучит очень здорово-детально,с красивым,точным мид бассом,с моей точки зрения немного не хватает нижних басов,но это не влияет на общее впечатление-спасибо!
Но и мой звучит прекрасно,хотя и не так детален,зато басы -просто сладкие-панчевые...ну короче трудно описывать музыку в словах,лучше добудь UK 1-st Press и сам оцени

Юра спасибо-тяну понемного,я в прошлую раздачу прожег альбом на болванки и кто то у меня их заиграл....ну а архивы я сдуру не забекапил....помнся тогда я обещал тебе выложить первопресс от EMI да так и не сделал-не хорошо,исправлюсь :hi:
